Laptop backpacks: the 5 criteria that really matter
A good laptop backpack should go with you from the office to the plane. Here is what to look at before you choose.
1. Your screen size
Check the stated compartment size (15.6" or 17", for example) and compare it with your laptop's actual dimensions, not just the screen diagonal.
2. The volume you need
For everyday use a compact format is enough. For a weekend or a cabin trip, an expandable model gives you extra room when you need it.
3. Access to your things
A wide opening and dedicated pockets for cables, passport or water bottle save you emptying everything at each security check.
4. Carrying comfort
Padded straps, a ventilated back and a luggage strap to slide it onto a telescopic handle: details that matter on a long journey.
5. Protection from rain
Water-repellent fabric handles light rain. For heavy showers, a dedicated rain cover is a better bet.
Good to know: the USB port on our bags is a simple pass-through. You connect your own power bank, which is not included.
